{Owen Grey} 7 Months :: Tacoma Photography

Hello Folks,

I couldn’t resist taking photos of Owen this past week with the weather being so incredibly nice in Tacoma, plus Owen is 7 Months today and its Mothers Day!

I have the privilege of being a momma to a wonderful and perfectly little baby boy and he means the world to me! There is nothing that would make me want things any other way! He is such a good boy and loves life! You can see it in his eyes! We know he will grow into such a great man someday! Watching him learn and observe things is fascinating! Not to say this isn’t hard work, being a mom who works, has a photography business and trying to maintain a good wife status (still working on that haha) is not easy. I knew this wouldn’t be easy but I didn’t know that I WOULD LOVE IT as much as I do!

I absolutely love being a mom Happy 7 Months Lil’ Owen!

{McKinlee Sue} Newborn Session :: Puyallup Photography

Matt and Jennifer could not be happier the day they found out they were expecting! Then waiting to hear if they were having a boy or a girl! Jen was hoping for a lil girl…. well, she got her lil girl. McKinlee Suesuch a precious little thing!

McKinlee Sue came into the world on April 17th, 2012. She was welcomed by so much love surrounding her! Her mommy and daddy couldn’t wait to finally meet her! Including the friends and family that were there in and out of the delivery room.

I love that when we are born we have no idea what kind of life lays ahead of us but for this family I know her life will be filled with joy, love, peace and lots of pictures and jumping pictures and of course lots of celebrations! Because that is how the Larson’s roll

Loved meeting McKinlee and I was honored to photograph her when she was 12 days old!

Thank you again for letting me in on something so very special.

Looking at her photos takes me back to when I became a mommy and I will forever cherish that moment.

{Tyce} Puyallup High School :: Puyallup Photographer

Tyce is a senior getting ready to graduate this year from Puyallup High School! He amongst others I am sure, is excited and looking forward to what holds after he walks across the stage to receive his diploma!

We got to photograph his older brother Garret a couple of years ago, glad to see another family member on the blog. Like his older bro, Tyce plays ball for the Puyallup Vikings! Tyce is also a Picha of Picha Farms, if you are in the Puyallup area, you should totally visit them for the Harvest time and grab some pumpkins

I had a great time with Tyce and his momma, they helped carry my gear and ladder because Tyce is sooooo tall even though he was quite tall, he never made me feel like a shrimp. He was kind and laughed at my jokes, thanks for making me feel tall like you You will do so great in college and whatever you choose to do after high school!

Hello people,

Meet Ricky. He is one of our favorites he has definitely grown up the last few years, like all of them do. We are sad to see him head off to college in a few months but overjoyed that he has grown up to be a matured boy/man who loves the Lord! There is much to learn after you leave high school but we know that you will be fine. Thanks to your parents and Jon, just kidding. hahaha you know we love you! You are bright kid and we know you will be good where ever you go. Remember we are only a phone call or txt away!

Thank you Ricky for allowing us to be apart of your life and letting us oldies hang out with you (along with Owen) Enjoy the last couple of months of being a senior at Lakes High School, better represent. Make it count and all the best!

{Stacie + Paul} Anniversary Session :: Tacoma Lifestyle Photography

I met Stacie back when my mother in-law worked with her at a dental office in Puyallup my mother in-law, Irene became great friends with her and now Stacie and her husband Paul are members at our church, they also help lead the Jr. High Youth team! They seem to love all them rascals in our youth group which are 6-8th graders! Who wouldn’t want to be around that much energy, we all were once there

Family are great endorsers, I am sure Irene told Stacie that her kids “do photography” way back when and we are so thankful because Stacie stopped me at church and asked if we could photograph them for their 8th Anniversary of being married and I simply said yes, well in my head it was like YEAHHHHHHHHH I CAN’T WAIT but I kept my cool and said I will contact ya with some info

Stacie and Paul are chill and are super cool to hang with, I have felt comfortable with them and felt like I have known them for a long time, I had so much fun that I completely forgot to ask how they met. So honestly, I had to txt her later to find out their cute story! This is how it went, they met at a church LOCKIN. Stacie was 14 at the time. They both ended up attending Fife High School together and starting dating when she was 16 and Paul was 17 and Stacie ended with this, He was “a band guy and I was a choir girl” and the rest is history. All I can say is cheers to that and congrats on your 8th Anniversary!

I couldn’t be more happy to photograph you two, love you guys to pieces! Thanks again for such a good time! Hope dinner at yours sisters was good

P.S. Check them blue eyes out, both of them having amazing eyes!!!!!

{Chengsu} Senior :: Tacoma Lifestyle Photography

Chengsu contacted us through our senior promotion we offered last spring for the local high school in the Tacoma area, once we got connected with her, we heard from her cousin about their wedding when we met up for their engagement session, Chengsu came along so it was nice to get to know her before photographing her for her senior session this spring. Chengsu is a senior at Rogers High School in Puyallup. She is attending as a running start student at High Line Community College as well, so she is busy with graduating soon and college studies as a senior! Chengsu is bubbly, Asian, sweet and short like me it was so much fun to photograph her. Her boyfriend Jon came along as well and helped me carry the ladder for extra height thanks for bringing extra hands!

Chengsu will be a Husky, she will be sporting Purple in the fall up at UW Seattle and will be studying Business! Although we are Coug fans in the Snyder house, we can still be friends We are so excited for you and what the future holds, you will have some good times in college and will be making lots of new friends because UW is like its own city

{Owen} 6 Months Old; Tacoma Children Photography

So our lil guy Owen is now 6 months. Today exactly, we went for his 6 month check and all is good

Words cannot describe the way I feel about being a mom and a mom to Owen, he brings so much joy to Jon and I. I cannot stop myself from taking so many photos! I tried to limit even my postings of him on facebook and on our blog but I can’t help it I guess it may be a good problem to have when you look back on it

I can’t believe Owen is 6 months, it has flown by. I felt that college and marriage went by fast and now we have a kid, holy cow how fast the time flies when you add another one to the family! I LOVE IT! Can’t wait to have more

Bare with me through the post today, lots of pictures. I hope I don’t bore you with them, whoever is looking at them I hope you can feel the joy and excitement of being around this lil guy

Homemade Lasagna :: Cooking is terrifying; Tacoma Lifestyle Photographer

I love to eat, my family loves to eat. So you would think cooking would be fun or easy for someone who loves to eat but not for me. I knew that when I married Jonny, it would be tough. Both his parents are really good cooks, how can I live up to that. They too love food! So I was terrified of cooking once we did get married. Our first meal after we got home from our honeymoon was in a crock-pot it was the good ole Pot Roast! Easy peasy I have always stuck to easy, really easy recipes. Like no brainer ones, so I didn’t mess up breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Now that we have been married 4 1/2 years I have some meals under my belt. I even have tried some new things, still as terrified as ever though. I am very sensitive about my cooking, so even if Jonny comes home and he makes a nice comment I can’t even handle that. All he said tonight was, “The Best Lasagna Ever….” I didn’t even let him finish his sentence, all he wanted to say was I thought you were making something from Pioneer Woman. I apologized after, I may need freedom in this area of married life. Its a good thing, Owen eats baby food that is already made for him. All nice and packaged he loves, he eats it all up!

Just for those who are in my shoes, I made Fried Chicken once. It was awful. It turned green as it was being fried. Don’t ask me how or why, til this day I have no idea what step I missed or what I may have done wrong. All I know is that I did not eat it and Jon did, he ate it. He is that kind of husband, in my guts I knew it wasn’t good but he still told me it was. He actually didn’t admit it wasn’t that great til this year, and I made that our first year of marriage! Ugh, hahaha now I can think back on it and laugh, not then no no I was a mess. But that has passed

Some of my favorite things to make is Ham n Swiss Quiche (soooo goood, thanks to Sue Miller), Chicken Tortilla soup (soooo goood, thanks to my spiritual mom Patty) and I have only made this once but Cherries on the Snow is to die for (thanks to Irene my mother in-law), someday I will make it again and I will be sure to take photos of it for you. I have yet to learn one of my moms recipes, still on the nervous side to try one of hers but that is a hurdle I must get over soon

I am so thankful for an encouraging husband and great chefs that make cooking and life a little bit easier like Sandra Lee, she is awesome! Jon’s grandma Glenda got me one of her cook books and I swore by that for the first couple years of marriage then there is Ree Drummond, Pioneer Woman. I have made a couple of her recipes now, as of tonight I have made Chicken Corn Chowder (I even tweaked it a bit myself) and now her “Best Lasagna. Ever” recipe is to die for. I made that tonight for Jon

I know Pioneer Woman made some fries, I’ve got to try that for sure! I LOVE FRIES!

TANZANIA, AFRICA :: JON GOES TO AFRICA!

For those of you who has been following our blog have read in the previous posts before that Jon was going overseas for a business trip! You also read in that post that I was quite emotional and had mixed feelings. One, I was sad I couldn’t explore the Africa with him (soon realized how selfish I was being). I thought that we would do everything together, literally. Two, I was scared he would have all the fun without Owen and I (again, selfish). Three, a little bit worried he wouldn’t make it back to us safely. But I have overcome those feelings and have come to conclusion that I need to suck it up and know it could be worse. So I am telling you all who is reading, that I am fine now I am so happy and very thankful he will get to travel to so many places working with Vision Fund (a subsidiary company through World Vision). Vision Fund is a great organization that works with Micro loans around the world. You can click on the link to find out more information, if you are interested.

In place of my feelings toward this new position, I have informed my husband that he must try new foods for me as if I were with him and explore the cities if he can while he is working! and to take PICTURES, including pictures of himself in some of them so we can tell our kids later about these adventures that Daddy gets to go on. Jon not only got to see the people from the villages but also went on a Safari! Enjoy what Jon has to say about the photos! – Moch

“I recently was hired by a company called VisionFund International, which is the micro-finance division of World Vision International. They hired me as their Brand Specialist to re-brand their different Micro Finance Institutes (MFI’s) across the world. One of the many aspects of my new job is traveling to these different MFI’s and working in their local country to get marketing materials created for them. Tanzania was the first of 30+ countries that I will be visiting over the next couple of years and it was an amazing start to my exciting job.

After 23 hours of flying I arrived in Tanzania not really knowing what to expect. It was definitely different then the United States; especially from the Pacific Northwest considering it was 45 degrees warmer than at home. There isn’t a McDonald’s or Starbucks. There aren’t air conditioned shopping malls. There are very few traffic lights, if any, and the local driving techniques are aggressive to say the least. But in the end I realized that Tanzania is exactly like the rest of the world; people trying to survive and live life the best they know how. Names, looks, and cultures may differ, but in the end we are so similar. That’s what’s so great about traveling. You get to meet people who are so different than you and yet so much the same. It’s fascinating.

I was also fortunate enough to go on a Safari while I was there. It was absolutely amazing. Out of all the animals I saw, probably one of my favorites were the Elephants. They are so massive, so powerful, and yet possess such a playful and kind spirit when you watch them. They are truly incredible. I don’t think I would want to go up and pet one, but I really enjoyed watching them.

I took hundreds of photos but I wanted to show just a few of my favorites. I will never forget the beauty of the animals, the people and the African landscape. These photos don’t do it justice.”

{Allison + Alec} Engagement :: Puyallup Lifestyle Photography

Allison and Alec got word about us through their Aunt (Krista) who knows me through Smiles By Sutherland I got to take her son’s senior photos almost a year ago. To say the least, we received an email from Krista’s sister about her daughters wedding and how we were highly recommended, we met up and hit it off quickly we are so grateful for faithful clients. Thank you for passing our name along and thank you for trusting us with your family!

Both Allison and Alec are Lutes in other words they both attended Pacific Lutheran University, we have that in common with them Alec is finishing up this spring! I am sure it feels good to be done, almost done. They will be getting married on Cinco De Mayo this year! Not sure if its because of the day but I am stoked to be photographing a wedding on that day, it just seems to fits, we get to celebrate a wedding on Cinco De Mayo! Its going to be blast, why not get married on May 5th!

Not only are they cool, good looking and nice but they kept calm and carried on, they did whatever I wanted them to do They were great sports about my questions, conversations and directing of their session I think we had a pretty darn good time, plus the sun was out that day. It just couldn’t have gotten any better Thanks guys! We are almost less than a month away from your beautiful wedding! Cheers!
